Dr. W. Anthony Riley has been Medical Director of Gilchrist Hospice Care since its inception in 1994 and also serves as Medical Director of Senior Services at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He is a board certified internist and geriatrician and certified by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. Dr. Riley is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He joined the medical staff at GBMC in 1983 and served as a faculty member of its Internal Medicine Residency Program from 1990 to 1994. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency and a research fellowship in Primary Care Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland. Dr. Riley, a Baltimore resident, is married and has two grown sons.

Dr. Aaron J. Charles is a board certified geriatrician and internist and has served as both Assistant Medical Director of Gilchrist Hospice Care and as a staff geriatrician at Greater Baltimore Medical Center since 2003. He received his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1996 and later returned there to complete his residency. He has also completed a clinical and research fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Dr. Charles is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and of the American Board of Internal Medicine. A Chicago native, Dr. Charles holds a B.A. in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Arizona and spent two years with the U.S. Peace Corps in Tanzania. He is married and lives in Baltimore with his wife and two sons.

Dr. Kendall R. Faulkner is a board certified internist who has served as an Assistant Medical Director at Gilchrist Hospice Care since 2005. She practices with GBMC’s Greater Geriatrics Group working as attending physician for several long-term care and subacute facilities. Dr. Faulkner worked extensively in the fields of Geriatrics and Hospice prior to coming to Gilchrist, serving as medical director and hospice physician for Stella Maris Hospice Care in Towson from 1993 to 1997. Her roots as a hospice physician date to the early days of the program. She served as a hospice physician at St. Joseph Hospital in 1982 and as a physician and Assistant Medical Director with Stella Maris Hospice Care from 1983 to 1986. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at University of Maryland Hospital. Dr. Faulkner, who lives in Baltimore with her partner, has three grown children.

Dr. Danielle J. Doberman serves as Medical Director of the Palliative Medicine Program at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and as Assistant Medical Director at Gilchrist Hospice Care and Gilchrist Center. She completed her medical school training at George Washington University in Washington, DC in 2000, and stayed on to complete a residency in Primary Care-based Internal Medicine. Following a year as Chief Resident, Dr. Doberman completed GW’s fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Seeking to broaden her interests in the unique needs of older adults at the end-of-life, she also completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Doberman is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Geriatrics and also has interests in pain management and medical education. Dr. Doberman enjoys scrap-booking and attending craft shows.

Dr. Delia Chiaramonte has served as an Assistant Medical Director of Gilchrist Hospice Care since 2007 and as a Private Medical Care Advisor for the Baltimore-based Insight Medical Consultants since 2006. She is a board certified family physician with an interest in helping patients confronting serious and life-limiting illnesses. Dr. Chiaramonte received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She is a member of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society. 

Dr. Jason W. Black has served as a member of the medical staff of Gilchrist Hospice Care and as a staff geriatrician at GBMC since 2004. He received his medical degree from the University of California Davis School of Medicine and completed his residency in northern California. Dr. Black is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine with Johns Hopkins University. He is a Certified Medical Director and acts in this capacity at two area nursing facilities.

Rebecca Sutula is a certified nurse practitioner and currently works every other weekend at Gilchrist Center, where she has been part of the medical staff since 2006. Ms. Sutula received both her Nursing degree and her masters of science in Nursing, Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Johns Hopkins University. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association in Maryland. Ms. Sutula, a Columbia resident, is married and has two sons.
