Gilchrist Kids is a family-centered program and provides an interdisciplinary team that works closely with a child’s own physician to create an individualized plan of care. The specialized team includes a Pediatric Medical Director, pediatric nurses, social workers, chaplains, and bereavement counselors as well as trained volunteers.

An array of services enables family members to lead their lives as fully as possible. Services are available 24 hours a day. An interdisciplinary pediatric specialty team takes a holistic approach to care, providing:

• Nursing services
• Pain and symptom management
• Assistance in accessing benefits, navigating the healthcare system, and decision making
• Guidance with community resources
• Medical social services
• Spiritual support
• Patient safety and family education
• Volunteer services
• Home health aides
• Medications and medical supplies delivered to the home
• Bereavement support for up to 2 years for family, friends, and the child’s community.
