TYPES OF EMPLOYMENT

Gilchrist Hospice Care is the largest hospice in Maryland and provides the highest quality hospice and support services, whether home-based or inpatient, to thousands of individuals and families residing throughout Central Maryland each year.

Our extraordinary staff of professionals and volunteers are dedicated to one unwavering goal: to profoundly enhance the end of life for people facing a life-limiting illness. Therefore, we seek employees who are technically skilled, posses superior interpersonal skills and wish to contribute to our culture of caring. 

Employment areas include:

Hospice Admission RNs
The Admissions process is the first step in establishing services for new patients and their families. It involves giving an initial assessment and education about hospice services.

Home Care Teams
Highly skilled interdisciplinary teams offer a comprehensive and collaborative approach that focuses on pain relief, symptom control, comfort and support for patients and families. We provide services throughout Central Maryland, specifically, Baltimore City and Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties.

Inpatient Units
Our two inpatient units are conveniently located in the heart of our service areas- Gilchrist Center in Towson and the soon-to-be open Gilchrist Center Howard County in Columbia. These units offer state-of-the-art medical expertise and round-the-clock nursing care in homelike environments.

Facility-Based Care
Gilchrist Hospice Care also provides services in acute care settings, skilled nursing facilities and residential/assisted living facilities – anywhere our patients call home.

Pediatric Hospice Care Program – Gilchrist Kids
Our pediatric home hospice program cares for infants, children, and teens with life-limiting illnesses or injuries and is focused on: palliative (comfort oriented) care, pain management, symptom control, and emotional support.

“NEWs” Team / After-Hour Support Services
The evening/weekend team is available around-the-clock to consult with families and assist them.

Administrative Services
Gilchrist also has administrative teams in the areas of education and research, human resources, finance, information services, marketing, operations, admissions and volunteer and support services.
